Going from culture that leaves you hungry (“You can’t eat it”) to culture that restarts the development of postindustrial Italy and opens up a new renaissance for the country that holds the world’s largest historical artistic patrimony is no small step. Yet a few years later it seems like that step has been taken, at least verbally. Performing arts (from music to theater), museums and architectural and archeological sites are now called “engines of economic growth” by those who have no idea how to implement and organize such a broad program.
